Men’s outfits: What should I Wear with my Pants?

Clothing Matching Image Tutorial:   Trouser Accompaniments

Those of you who read my content or have worked one on one with me know that I speak a lot about the power of THREE.

Three means there are three elements to your look.  1) shirt 2) pants 3) something else.

Why?  Because when you add a third (and even better a fourth!) visual element to your look you are raising the style and sophistication bar substantially.  You are creating an “outfit” …. not just a pair of pants and a shirt.

What?  Well, that third element can be many things:

merino cashmere sweater

Or underneath:  a silky black tee, a waffle weave Henly, or even a preppy polo shirt for a dash of color.

Notice I did NOT say dressy, or formal.  Tweeds, flannels, corduroy, even ties that are wool are wonderful ways to wear fabric with more style and less formality.

vests

BTW, What’s a fourth visual element to really amp up your style?   A colorful pocket square, a wool tie, a cashmere scarf, a belt or shoes that are unusual, a hat, great sunglasses.
